40 Beauty Questions Tag

Hello Everyone,

I thought that since all I have done on this blog is Sleek palette reviews that I might do a tag that I saw on YouTube and liked, its fairly old but I'm not too bothered by that :) So here it is...

SKINCARE:

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice – I do a cleanse, tone and moisturize in the morning. And I use face wipes and eye make up remover (if I have won make up that day) in the evening followed by a face wash and moisturiser.

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)

I have combination skin, it’s dry and sensitive. It gets especially dry in extremely cold/hot weather.

What is your current facial wash?

Simple purifying cleansing lotion (Daytime)

Simple Moisturising Foaming Face Wash (Nighttime)

Do you exfoliate?

Yes I do, once a week.

What brand do you use?

Clarity Exfoliating face wash.

What moisturizer do you use?

Simple Hydrating light moisturizer.

Do you have freckles?

Yes around my eyes, but their not that noticeable when I wear foundation.

Do you use eye cream?

No.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I wouldn’t say my skin was acne prone but like most people I would get the occasional spot or a few pimples nothing too serious.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

No, like I said my skin was prone to a few spots but nothing that needed a product like pro active.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?
I use MAC Studio fix fluid NC50.

How about concealer?

I don’t use concealer, although I know I probably should.

Do you know your undertone color?

Yes, I have yellow undertones to my skin, which means I have warm undertones.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

I think for a night out or a dramatic look they are great but for everyday it’s not for me.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes I did know that, do I do it? Not all the time lol.

What brand of mascara do you use?

It depends, but at the moment I am using RIMMEL The max volume flash mascara. This is the best mascara I have used for a long time.

Sephora or MAC?

I would love to shop at Sephora but as I live in England and we do not have a Sephora over here I would have to say MAC.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

No.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

I use MAC brushes mainly, latex wedges and some random drugstore brushes which are surprisingly good quality.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Yes I do, MAC Prep and Prime.

For the face?

No I don’t use a face primer, though I am looking for one that I would like to start using.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

My favourite eyeshadow is MAC Satin Taupe because you can wear it just on the lids as a natural colour for daytime but in the evening for a smokey look I would add MAC Brun to the outer corner and into the crease.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

I use both but I prefer gel liner (MAC Blacktrack fluidline)

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

Not often at all, it will only happen if I am rushing which again isn’t often because I always factor in make up into my schedule when getting ready in the morning/evening.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I love them although they can get everywhere if you’re not careful.

Do you use mineral makeup?

Yes.

What is your favorite lipstick?

My favourite lipstick is Hot Tahiti by MAC.

How about lipgloss?

MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert.

What is your favorite blush to use?

Ambering Rose by MAC.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?

No. Never. I would never trust it. I mean what if it gets tampered with and you have a bad reaction on your skin.

Do you like drugstore makeup?

Yes I love it, my fave brand is Sleek.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)

No I have never been to one, I’m not even sure where there is one lol but I would love to go to one.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

I have taken a make up course before in fashion and photography make up and now I’m doing a course at a college/university to become a specialist make up artist to work on film and TV sets.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I used to be but I have been wearing make up for a number of years now, so I think I have the technique of application down lol.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?

When girls where foundation 2-3 shades lighter or darker than their natural skin tone and don’t blend it down their neck. They look like they are wearing a mask errrrgh! I hate that.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

I love both. Depending on the mood I’m in or how much time I have in the morning I will alternate the kind of colours I wear on my eyes. But I tend to wear neutral colors during the day and brighter more dramatic eyes at night if I’m going out or something. And my lips are pretty neutral most of the time.

Which celebrity always has great make up?

I love Kim Kardashians make up. She always looks stunning.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item what would you use?

I would use lipgloss. Gotta make those lips stand out lol.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Of course, there are tons of times I leave the house without make up on. Especially cos of college I have to go in twice a week without make up on. It’s not a big deal. Sometimes my skin likes to breathe. :D

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

Yeah I think I look alright without make up on, obviously I can’t hide my flaws but I don’t really care :)

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

MAC. I love them because they cater to darker skin tones.

What do you think of Makeup?

I absolutely LOVE make up. I know it sounds typical but I think make up is an art form a way to express moods and creativity. I’m not sure where my life would be right now if I hadn’t discovered that I wanted to be a make up artist, make up is my passion.

I tag you ALL! :)

Sleek Palette Review: Sunset

Here is the 4th installment of sleek palette reviews. This review is going to be on the Sunset palette. The sunset palette is one of their permanent palettes alongside Chaos, Storm, Original and Acid.

"The Sunset i-Divine palette contains 12 highly-pigmented complementary shades representing the sun, sea and sand. With a blend of shimmering golds, reds and blues, this palette is perfect for that sun-kissed look.

The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect. Each shade can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look."

My arm looks deformed...again haha

I really love this palette. I remember using this for a smoky, sultry vampire look which I love love loveddd and it has a nice highlighter colour for my skin tone as well. You could quite a few smokey eyes with palette without them being so intensely dark smokey eyes...you know lol and a whole range of bright and natural looks. This was a great purchase. The colours again come out really well on my skin and not at all patchy. The texture and consistency of the make up is wonderful, seriously no bad words to say about this brand.

I give this palette 5 out of 5.

If you don't own it go buy it, you won't be disappointed :)

Next up Chaos palette ...

Thanks guys xxx

Sleek Palette Review: STORM

Hi guys!

Okay so this post is gonna be on the Storm palette, which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!! You can go from day time to night time, from neutrals to smokey eyes, and simple to sultry, with this palette. This is my favourite out of all the palettes.

"The Storm i-Divine palette comprises of 12 strong and rich shades perfect for accentuating the eyes and creating natural looks.

The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect. Each shade can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look. "

The eyeshadows are great in this palette I love how you can go from neutral to strong looks in one. This was a really good purchase. I have nothing bad to say about these shadows :) The palette consists of matte and shimmery/frosty colours and the pigmentation of the shadows is fantastic even the lighter shades are full of colour and come out well on my skin. I suggest everyone go buy this palette no matter what your skin tone is, there are shades in this palette for everyone...and I mean everyone :D
Im not sure why my arm looks so weird in this photo :/

I use this palette on the days when my make up needs to be simple, for example when I go to college, that is when I bother to wear make up haha, because recently due to how early I have to get up I just cant be bothered to get up even earlier to apply my make up .
I give this palette 5 out of 5.
The next review will be on the Chaos palette.
So until next time guys :)

Sleek Palette Review: Acid

Hi guys,

So today I am going to review the Sleek Acid palette.

"The Acid i-Divine Palette contains a fusion of vibrant colours for the more daring, with bright pinks to luminous greens amongst the 12 highly-pigmented pressed mineral-based eyeshadow shades. This palette combines matte and shimmer formulations with neon and complimentary shades that keep their vibrancy on all skin tones.

The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect. Each shade can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look. "

I brought this palette the same time I brought my original palette and thought those were some serious colours lol but I have to say that when I got home and tried them out properly I was extremely disappointed with the coverage and pigmentation of the neon colours. They look really ashy and patchy on my skin. For them to look at least half decent I have to pack on sooooooooo much product, use a base and a colour underneath, so by the end its not worth the effort. If you have lighter skin they come out much better, I tried them on my best mate who is white. The four frosty/shimmery colours that come in the palette I was very impressed with, the pigmentation is great and I love them.

So based on the coverage of the neon colours I'm going to give this palette 2.5 out of 5.

Comment below and let me know your experience with the acid palette. :)

Sleek Palette Review: The Original

Hi guys,

Okay again I have been lagging with this blog, when I started to do my swatches and stuff for this post I was all gung-ho to get it out literally the next day but then I caught the flu…I know sucks, but any who it stopped me from going on the computer because I didn’t feel like swatching and writing up reviews etc while I was all sickly and tired and generally feeling crap. So finally, however long later (if that even makes sense haha), its here :)

So I’m going to be doing 6 reviews, all on the sleek palettes I own. Outside of MAC, Sleek is my third favourite brand for eye make up…hands down. It is also my second favourite drugstore make up brand, coming second to Barry M. Sleek is sooooooooo pigmented its ridiculous, and the tiniest bit of it goes so far. This is a brand I will be purchasing for years to come.

I bought my sleek palettes from Superdrug (an English drugstore) for £5.99 each except for the Circus palette that was £6.99 and also a limited edition palette. If you are outside of the UK you can purchase sleek make up from the Sleek website. For each palette I review I am going to put a paragraph from the website that describes the palette and then my opinion on them.

The Original

“The Original i-Divine palette contains a variety of highly-pigmented colours, ranging from green to purple, allowing you to create endless looks fit for day or night.

The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect. Each of the 12 shades can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look.”

The original palette was the first one out of the six that I bought and it was really random, I went out shopping for the day for new make up and happened to come across it in superdrug, so I opened it and did a few swatches on my hand and fell in love with the colours, the colour pay off and the consistency of the make up. All the colours are shimmery/frosty. They last all day, well for me they do and I havent experience any creasing. It feels so smooth when you apply it and all the colours come out very well on my skin, which I was surprised with, because being black drugstore eyeshadows (well the cheaper ones lol) do not tend to come out very pigmented on my skin, so when the colours came out bright and not patchy that went straight into my shopping basket :) So I would suggest to anyone that has access to Sleek to go buy this palette.

I give this palette 5 out of 5.

So next up is the Acid palette...
